Egg Tempera is a rich and historical form of painting that creates depth of colors and subtleys that have been prized for hundreds of years.  Anita Burbeck will show us the stages of doing this wonderful art form with egg yolks and pigments -  a rare opportunity to see up close another form of paint using the same pigments as in watercolor but with a different binder.   

Anita will lead this presentation on Tuesday the 8th of April.  You will learn about the basic equipment set up you will need, tips and tricks on a successful painting session and on how to build your skills as an artist.  

Anita Burbeck’s life is filled with art. Drawing is the first real memory she has of her early childhood. Each day brings new challenges and experiments to further her artistic endeavors. Inspiration can come from something visually stimulating or a musical passage to the written or spoken word.

Anita has numerous certificates of completion of art seminars conducted by renowned artists in their fields. She has her commercial art degree and B.F.A. from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). She has a hunger for learning, so she continues to pursue further education in the formal arts as well as related fields.

Anita brought her children up in the SCA (Society of Creative Anachronisms), so she has a special fondness for things medieval, whether it is reproducing paintings or icons or using the correct painting styles and paints for creating hand-calligraphied and illuminated manuscripts, or creating fiber art in an ancient way.
